Croydon CAB need a new Treasurer, a voluntary role that provides an exciting opportunity to join our Trustee Board and work with a modern and professional charity providing a vital service to thousands of Croydon citizens and has a turnover of £750k
The Treasurer role is not one of hands on involvement - it is much more about providing a financial overview on behalf of the trustees, to provide them with the reassurance that the finances are being properly and prudently managed (or not!). It is also about providing a degree of professional financial input regarding our overall strategic management. There is a requirement to attend about 10 evening meetings a year plus occasional informal meetings with the managers and trustees.
We employ 25 paid staff, about the same number of unpaid volunteers and have an income of around £700,000. We employ a full time chief executive who, amongst other things, has operational responsibility for the management of our finances including preparing and monitoring the financial budgets. He is supported by an admin manager who runs our accounting system (Sage), prepares the regular management accounts, the annual accounts and manages the interface we have with an outside company who run our payroll.
